Louisville is taking measures to help those who are homeless or unsheltered.

* Seven hand-washing stations and portable toilets have been installed throughout Louisville to provide places to practice good hygiene

* The Salvation Army has transformed its Angel Tree warehouse into a shelter for homeless people who are showing symptoms of or have tested positive for the coronavirus. Anyone needing to use the center has to be referred by a doctor.

*The Coalition for the homeless website lists resources and how you can help. www.louhomeless.org

  * www.kentuckianaworks.org has a job board and links to resources that is updated regularly

We have regular updates on our Facebook page Jumpstartky

www.Louieconnect.com has a list of resources.

Who We Are

JumpStartKY, Inc is a 501(c)(3) non profit charity committed to helping homeless young adults ages 18-24 secure stable housing and support services.

*This age group is the fastest growing homeless population in the country

*A University of Louisville study shows that poverty and the lack of affordable housing are the top reason's they end up on the street.

*More than 60 percent have been in foster care and have no family to return to.

*The study also shows there has been a steady rise of women made homeless by domestic violence, and many are on the streets with their children.

*Once homeless, young people are at risk for labor and sex trafficking, assault, and other forms of victimization.

All of our services are FREE!

Our efforts are supported through private donations.

You can Help Change Lives

From Homelessness to Hope!   You can help us provide permanent or emergency housing and buy groceries or a monthly bus pass for a  young person to get to work, school or medical appointments.  We've found  the need for our services especially great among young mothers and their children.  Your donation will enable us to accomplish our goal of helping them find a safe place to call home and services to help them succeed.
