A Place to call
the Key to a New Lease on Life

Without somewhere to live,

it's almost impossible to make lasting,

positive life changes.

Who We Are

 JumpStartKY, Inc in Louisville, KY is a  volunteer group of experienced youth advocates committed to helping homeless young adults ages 18-24 secure stable housing.

 This age group is the fastest growing homeless population in the country.

Studies show that poverty and the lack of affordable housing are the top reason's they end up on the street.

60% of this group are working at low paying jobs.

All of our services are FREE!

   Our efforts are supported through private donations.

What We Do

* Help finding stable housing

* Help with lease negotiations/ongoing landlord support

*Provide guidance to appropriate services to meet specific needs (including employment and education)

* Free legal advice

* Offer peer to peer phone and one on one support from  formerly homeless young adults

Impact that Lasts

  In 2016, the Coalition for the Homeless counted 443 young adults aged 18-24 living in adult emergency shelters or on the streets in Louisville, KY

(Read Blog: State of Homelessness in Louisville by Natalie Harris)

  According to Nan Roman, the president and C.E.O. of the National Alliance for Homelessness, “If you move people into permanent supportive housing first, and then give them help, it seems to work better.  It’s intuitive, in a way. People do better when they have stability."

Homeless is Where they are, not Who they are

You can Help Change Lives

From Homelessness to Hope!   You can help us provide permanent or emergency housing and buy groceries or a monthly bus pass for a  young person to get to work, school or medical appointments.  We've found  the need for our services especially great among young mothers and their children.  Your donation will enable us to accomplish our goal of helping them find a safe place to call home and services to help them succeed.
